HANDEL HAPPY HOUR ! !

Monday through Friday, July 25-29, 2022
6-8pm each night
Opera America, 330 7th Avenue, 7th floor, NYC

• attend as few or as many sessions as you like
• bring 3 paper copies of any Handel arias (English, Italian, or German) you’d like to work on
• they can be new or old arias for you
• advance preparation need not include preparing any ornamentation at all
• know your text, translation, and the basics of your character and plot
• memorization not necessary
• please do not consult other people’s recordings or YouTubes, it won’t help!
• M-Th we will practice extemporizing ornaments and cadenzas and learn all the skills needed to pull off any Handel aria you may encounter
• consultation for additional repertoire suggestions included
• Friday we’ll sing through arias we’ve been working on for any guests you’d like to invite
• spread the word – the more singers we have, the more productive it will be

• $30 per session
• $20 each if you bring a friend
• $15 each if you bring two friends
• $10 each if you bring three or more friends

• free if you’re singing
• $10 if you’re not
